The Unphotographed Crêpe

by Crystal Paradis-Catanzaro

I thought about photographing my crêpe

But then, I thought, then

It will no longer be solely mine.

The delicately furled arugula

Tastefully contrasting tomato red

Savory ham

Enveloped — no, embraced —

In the thinnest of possible crêpe

Nearly imperceptible cheese

Uniting the dish

The breathless whisper of French love song

My only companion
