My business Feminist Oasis partnered with RESOLVE (Seacoast Women’s Action Network, Exeter Rises, New Castle Promise, The Seacoast Resistance and Indivisible New Hampshire) on the RBG screening at The Music Hall Loft! For the opening night, we created a challenge to #FilltheLoftwithFeminists. And we did! The event sold out about a week before the event, and the networking hour before the show was filled with excited feminists.
I set up a mini Post-It wall, Feminist Oasis-style, with prompts including “What is your favorite thing about RBG?” and “What feminist victory should be celebrating tonight?” I also brought a small white board on which people could fill in the phrase “I’m notorious for: ” as a mini photo-booth style prop. There were attendees in feminist-themed and RBG-themed T-shirts, pussy hats and even RBG-inspired robes and lace collars.
The film itself was fantastic, and no matter where or when you are reading this, you should seek out a screening or find a way to watch this compelling, inspiring and very informative documentary about one of the most groundbreaking jurists of our time.
